The two-judge bench, comprising Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Shakeel Ahmed, ordered the Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to provide any evidence against Afridi’s wife to the cabinet since the DAG claimed the evidence could not be produced before the court due to it being confidential.

The Deputy Attorney General maintained before the court that if the state has confidential information against someone, action could be taken against them.

The court accepted the request of the Deputy Attorney General and disposed of the request accordingly.

Dr Shakeel Afridi was responsible for running a fake vaccination campaign that led the US forces to a housing compound in Abbottabad allegedly being used by Osama Bin Laden.

However, he was arrested and sentenced to 33 years in prison for alleged ties with a local militant Mangal Bagh. He also faced murder charges in another case.
