The Foreign Office has issued a strong response to a resolution passed by the US House of Representatives calling for an impartial investigation into allegations of electoral fraud in the general elections in Pakistanon February 8.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that Pakistan has taken note of the resolution’s approval.

The resolution, which garnered 368 votes in favor with only 7 against, calls for a comprehensive and independent investigation into alleged interference or irregularities in Pakistan’s February 2024 general elections.

In response, the spokesperson asserted that the timing and context of the resolution are not conducive to bilateral relations. She further criticized the resolution as being devoid of understanding of the Pakistani electoral process and political realities.
