Rauf achieved this feat during Pakistan’s T20 World Cup match against Canada, when he dismissed Canadian wicketkeeper-batsman Shreyas Movva (2) in his second over.

Rauf quickly added his 101st wicket in the same over, dismissing Ravindarpal Singh (0) who edged the ball to Fakhar Zaman.

Before the match, Rauf was just one wicket away from becoming the second Pakistani bowler after Shadab Khan (107 wickets) to reach the 100-wicket milestone in men’s T20Is.

Overall, he is the 14th bowler globally to achieve this feat.

The match against Canada came after Pakistan suffered a disappointing start to their T20 World Cup campaign, losing their opening match against the USA.

This marked the first time Pakistan failed to beat an associate nation in the men’s T20I format, having won each of their 12 prior games.

Pakistan’s batting struggled in the first two matches, registering sub-100 strike rates in the powerplay overs against India and USA.

This was the first time since the 2022 T20 World Cup that Pakistan had consecutive matches with a powerplay strike rate below 100.

Additionally, Pakistan’s bowlers have conceded runs at an economy rate of 8.77 in men’s T20Is so far in 2024, their highest such rate in the format in a single calendar year. This is just the second time they have conceded over 8 runs per over in a year (8.62 in 2019).
