The Directorate of Customs Valuation Lahore has set the customs value for exported Pink Rock Salt at $130 per metric ton (PMT), according to a new valuation ruling issued on Wednesday.

The decision follows directives from the Director General Valuation, Karachi, and extensive consultations with stakeholders including the Trade Development Authority (TDAP), Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Salt Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SMAP), and Pink Rock Salt exporters.

The Directorate carefully considered proposals from stakeholders, reviewed export data from Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL), and analyzed international market trends and price fluctuations.

The final customs value was determined in accordance with Section 25A and Section 15 of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969, which outlines the process for setting export values.

This new valuation ruling will provide clarity and consistency for exporters of Pink Rock Salt, facilitating smoother customs clearance and promoting fair trade practices.
