India had requested consular access to these prisoners, who are alleged to be agents of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) intelligence agency, as per diplomatic sources reported to Business Recorder.

On Monday, a three-member delegation from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad was granted access to meet the two prisoners, who are reportedly from Indian-occupied Kashmir.

The two individuals granted consular access are Feroze Ahmad Lone, age 29, and Noor Muhammad Wani, age 24. They were arrested from the Gilgit-Baltistan region on charges of spying for the Indian government. Both men are originally from the Gorez area of Bandihurah town in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

According to Indian media reports, the two men had been missing from Indian-occupied Kashmir since November 2018.

However, sources in Pakistan maintain that the two had illegally crossed the border and were then arrested on charges of espionage. The two alleged Indian spies were recently transferred from a prison in Gilgit-Baltistan to the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
