      <title>KP decides to increase BRT fare</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to increase fares on the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system by Rs5 to 10 in an effort to cover operating costs.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Peshawar BRT is facing an annual deficit of over Rs3 billion. To address this, the provincial budget allocated Rs3 billion in subsidies for the BRT.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Advisor, Muzammil Aslam, discussed increasing fares to reduce costs and increase revenue. According to documents, the final decision on fare increases will be made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority (KPUMA) board.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The meeting also directed the introduction of a daily unlimited travel pass for Rs150  for general public. The pass will be available for Rs100  for women, students, transgender individuals, and senior citizens.&lt;/p&gt;
