A large group of protesters gathered outside the Kyrgyz embassy. Additional police contingents reached the area to ensure the protection of diplomats.

The police installed barbed wire fencing around the embassy.

They ended the sit-in after delivering a letter of protest to the embassy via police and warned of another protest with families if demands were not met. Reports said that they peacefully dispersed.

The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, condemned the violence against Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan.

In his statement, Rehman said, “Our children are being attacked in Kyrgyzstan, and we have reports of some students having been martyred.”

There were reports of potential protests in Karachi.

In another post, Rehman said that he contacted a student from Kyrgyzstan. “The actual situation is quite alarming and according to the students the response of the embassy has been disappointing so far,” the JI quoted him as saying and urged the prime minister and the foreign minister to understand the sensitivity of the matter.

“The lives of the students are at stake, take immediate steps to get them out of trouble and provide security.”
