Despite the encounter, Orton secured a victory over Carmelo Hayes, advancing to the semifinals of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament. He will now face Tama Tonga in the next round.

The winner of Orton and Tonga’s match will face either Gunther or Jey Uso in the tournament’s finals.

Orton has been impressive since his return last year and will be aiming to win the King of the Ring crown in Saudi Arabia on May 25. This would be the only major accolade missing from his illustrious career.
