Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan took to social media X, stating, “Either be available for a full season or don’t come.”

Gavaskar advocated for measures to hold the players and cricket boards accountable for these behaviours in his column for The Midday, Times of India reported.

He further stated that not only should the franchises be allowed to deduct the fees of these players, but the English board should also be denied the 10% commission they typically receive from the players’ fees.
