India wants Pakistan to make first move in resuming ties: journalist

Pakistan would have to make the first move in resuming ties with India, Indian journalist Siddharth Varadarajan has said, adding that the neighbouring country would not refuse such an offer.

In an interview with Spot Light with Munizae Jahangir, he said that it would be in both countries’ interest if they agreed to reinstate their ambassadors after former prime minister Imran Khan broke ties with India following the Modi government’s decision to scrap Kashmir status under Indian constitution.

He added that such a development would increase bilateral trade and the exchange of people.

Varadarajan claimed that the Modi government was inciting sectarianism to win elections as he had nothing to show to the people.
