A social media post recently claimed that a fourth year student, named Mahnoor, had recently died of heart failure but students were claiming that it was a suicide.

The post claimed that she had been denied medical leaves.

However, the reports of the college’s alleged maltreatment are not confined to the incident of Mahnoor.

Posts on social media showed that students had their shirts ripped and even their phones broken for breaking rules.

They were allegedly also made to sit on cold floors for up to four hours as punishment, something called a ‘Pink List’.

The students allegedly recevied hefty fines for small violations. Mahnoor’s last fine was a whooping Rs90,000, the post claimed.

On Monday, students came out infront of the college carrying placards and signs calling for investigation into the college’s affairs. Some signs also said ‘Justice for Mahnoor’.

In response, the College’s owner told the media that he considered the students his ‘grandchildren’ and that he has issued a notification addressing their demands.

• Remove any any objects they could use to harm themselves.
