The man, identified as Zameer Sial Rajpar, had allegedly raped and killed a child in Tharu Shah in Nowsehro Feroz.

Police claimed that they had tracked the alleged culprit to a banana farm in the city on Friday. However, the man fired upon the police with a pistol as soon as he saw them coming.

Police fired in response, killing the man immediately.

The child, who has been identified as Dua Solangi, had gone missing from her house on the first day of eid. Her dead body had been found a day later.

Police revealed that the child had been abducted prior to being sexually assaulted. The rape had been confirmed by a medical report.
