Multiple Arab countries called on their citizens to look for the crescent moon on Monday to signal Eid-ul-Fitr 2024.

Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court made the appeals to the people of the country on Saturday. It asked people in the kingdom to report any sighting of the moon through a telescope or their naked eyes to the nearest court.

United Arab Emirates also called upon the people residing within its borders to look for the crescent moon and report any sighting.

If the moon is sighted on Monday, which falls on Ramadan 29, Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on April 9.

However, if the moon is not sighted, the eid will fall on Wednesday, April 10.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"
        width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="height:400px;position:relative"

        sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms">

Eid is one of the holiest and most joyous days in the entire calendar year. It marks the end of fasting in Ramadan and is considered a reward for worship in the holy month.

Families come together to celebrate Eid and governments in Muslim countries announced holidays from work and educational institutions.
