A memorandum circulating on social media recently claimed that the federal government has approved an Eid-ul-fitr allowance for all its employees. However the notification is FAKE.

A spokesperson for the ministry of finance confirmed to Aaj News that no such notification has been issued.

The fake memo said that all employees from grades 1 to 22 would be given an allowance amounting to 15% of their basic pay for Eid-ul-fitr.

It had added that the allowance would be applicable to all departments and divisions under the federal secretariat.

The memo is dated March 29 and carries the number F.No.14(10R-3/2021-324.
