      <title>Asif Ali Zardari takes oath as president of Pakistan for second term</title>

&lt;p&gt;Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered oath to the newly-elected president of Pakistan. Outgoing president Dr Alvi also attended the ceremony.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A day earlier, &lt;a href="https://www.aajenglish.tv/news/30354178/who-is-asif-ali-zardari-president-elect-of-pakistan"&gt;Zardari&lt;/a&gt; was elected the president of Pakistan for the second time after winning the presidential election with 255 votes against PkMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai who got 119 votes in Parliament.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He succeeded &lt;a href="https://www.aajenglish.tv/news/30354191/arif-alvi-signs-off-with-last-x-post-as-president-of-pakistan"&gt;Alvi&lt;/a&gt; as the 14th president of Pakistan and became the only civilian president to have been elected to the Office for a second term.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, all three service chiefs, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza participated in the swearing-in ceremony.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Born on July 26, 1955, in Karachi, Zardari is the son of Hakim Ali Zardari, a tribal chief and prominent landowner.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He was married to Pakistan’s first female prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Zardari served as the 11th president of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 and was the first politician to complete a full term in office. He has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.&lt;/p&gt;
