      <title>Arif Alvi signs off with last X post as president of Pakistan</title>

&lt;p&gt;“It has been an honor to serve the people of Pakistan. May Allah forgive me for my shortcomings and reward me for the good deeds I may have done. &lt;a rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" class="link--external" href="https://twitter.com/Saminalvi"&gt;@Saminalvi&lt;/a&gt; joins me in this prayer,” he posted in a post on X.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Expressing hope that a brilliant future awaits Pakistan, Alvi informed that this was his last post as the “13th President of Pakistan on this X handle &lt;a rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" class="link--external" href="https://twitter.com/PresOfPakistan"&gt;@PresOfPakistan&lt;/a&gt; that was set up by me in August 2018.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“I am handing over total control of &lt;a rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" class="link--external" href="https://twitter.com/PresOfPakistan"&gt;@PresOfPakistan&lt;/a&gt; to the 14th President of Pakistan today,” he concluded.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was elected the president for the second time after winning the presidential election with 255 votes against PkMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai who got 119 votes in Parliament.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, the presiding officer for the presidential election in the NA, announced the result.&lt;/p&gt;
