      <title>Dacoits abduct Rescue 1122 official in riverine area of Punjab</title>

&lt;p&gt;A video of the official, identified as Saleem Hashmi, being held in chains has been sent to his family by the dacoits. He was abducted on February 15.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The dacoits have demanded a ransom of Rs10 million to secure the official’s release. Hashmi is seen requesting the money to be arranged in the video.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Bahawalpur police have registered a complaint against the abduction.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 has written a letter to the Punjab Police asking for them to do everything they can for their official to be recovered.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Hashmi’s colleagues have also started raising funds to pay for his ransom.&lt;/p&gt;
