The ceremony was attended by members of Shahbaz’s family as well as major party leaders and members of the caretaker cabinet.</p> <p>Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Zardari also attended the ceremony. His opponent, Sunni Ittehad Council’s Omar Ayub Khan, received 92 votes.</p> <p>The younger Sharif contested the election for PM as the joint candidate of a multi-party alliance that included Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Balochistan Awami Party and others.</p>
