      <title>PM to be elected on Sunday</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The National Assembly of Pakistan will elect the country’s next prime minister on Sunday, March 3, according a schedule announced on Thursday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The nomination papers for the prime minister slot will be submitted on Saturday, March 2.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A scrutiny process will follow and will be completed by 3pm on the same day.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The National Assembly will meet on Sunday and MNAs will vote to elect the new prime minister.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The PMLN-led ruling coalition of six parties has nominated Shehbaz Sharif as its candidate for the prime minister slot. He will be facing PTI’s Omar Ayub Khan. PPP has expressed it support for Shehbaz, but has not asked for ministries and will not be part of the government.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The six-party ruling coalition already has at least 208 votes.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A prime minister, or chief minister of a province, is elected by show of hand. Under Article 226 of Constitution all elections, other than those of the prime minister and the chief minister, are held by secret ballot.&lt;/p&gt;
