Countries that give birthright citizenship

There are still as many as 13 countries that grant citizenship by birth as a few countries look to scrap such a decision to curb immigration. Many would not believe it, but Pakistan also gives such a right.

Many people in India started discussing the citizenship of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s son Akaay who was born in London.

Indian actress Alia Bhatt confirmed in an interview that she was a British citizen as she was born there, but she had spent her life in India.

According to The Economic Times, there are few other conditions for children to get entitled to birthright citizenship like one of the parents has to be a citizen of that country and such a right was not granted to diplomats.

Below is the list

France

United Kingdom

Cambodia

Pakistan

Germany

Greece

Ireland

Canada

United States

Argentina

Brazil

Australia

New Zealand
