      <title>PPP, PMLN talks end without significant results</title>

&lt;p&gt;The two sides had two separate sittings at Ishaq Dar’s residence in Islamabad’s minister’s enclave.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The PPP delegation includes Qamar Zaman Kaira, Murad Ali Shah and Nadeem Afzal Chan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Contrary to expectations, the two sides failed to arrive at any significant agreement and called it a day.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Another round of talks is now scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;PMLN had emerged as the largest group in the National Assembly after independents, with 75 seats. The PPP stood third with 54 seats.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The PPP has alread made it clear that it will not ask for ministries or field a cnadidate for prime minister. However, Bilawal Bhutto said on Sunday that Asif Zardari would be the candidate for president.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A Muttahida Qaumi Movement delegation consisting of Kamran Tessori, Farooq Sattar and Musafa Kamal called on Ishaq Dar at his residence as well.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to a statement, the MQM asked PMLN for constitutional amendments it wished to see. The party also offered suggestions about the formation of government.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;MQM said that it has stressed the devolution of powers to grassroot level so that the lives of ordinary citizens can be improved.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The two sides also agreed to keep engaging over government formation in coming days.&lt;/p&gt;
