Pakistan Muslim League leader Raja Riaz alleged on Sunday that Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Chatha was bribed with Rs250 million to make allegations against the 2024 elections.

Speaking to reporters in Faisalabad, Riaz claimed that Chatha was gifted a flat in New York through overseas Pakistanis in return for making allegations against the chief election commissioner and chief justice of Pakistan.

He also said that Chatha had worked for 20 years in Faisalabad and was notoriously corrupt. Raja added that Chatha’s previous posting was also done throug a Rs50 million bribe to Usman Buzdar.

He further demanded that the Chatha’s name shoud be added to the Exit Control List until investigations are completed.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"

In an explosive news conference on Saturday, Chatha had claimed that election results had been altered in 13 constituencies of Rawalpindi.

The former minister said that PTI routinely complained of rigging in elections it had lost in the past.

Riaz, who left PTI to join PMLN, said Nawaz had decided only to become PM if he gained simple majority. Therefore, Shehbaz has been nominated for the top post, he added.
