Nadeem Anjum, not Faiz, involved in VONC, clarifies Maulana

Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has clarified that Lt General Nadeem Anjum, not Lt General (retired) Faiz Hameed was involved in the vote of no confidence against Imran Khan.

In an interview with Gharida Farooqui on Friday, Maulana clarified remarks made in another interview on Thursday, where he had claimed that previous army chief and spymaster had been the force behind the vote that removed Imran from power.

However, questions had been raised over the accuracy of Maulana’s facts as Hameed had only been removed from the Inter-Services Intelligence and posted as Corps Commander Peshawar.

In Friday’s interview, Maulana said he wanted to clarify that it was not Hameed but the next DG-ISI who was behind the vote.

Responding to General Bajwa’s remarks that he could state on oath against Maulana’s version, Fazal said that such an oath would have no meaning.

He added that all officers take an oath to stay away from politics but violate it showing there was no respect among generals for oaths.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"
        width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="height:400px;position:relative"

Fazal also said that his version was based on ‘facts’ and it was unnecessary to talk about oaths about events that happened infornt of everyone’s eyes.

Asked if he wanted the whole matter to be investigated, Maualan wondered who could undertake such an investigation. He said that he had no trust in any institution in Pakistan.
