The price of gold increased by Rs1,300 and now stands at Rs212,400 per tola for selling on February 17 in Pakistan against the previous price of Rs211,100/tola, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

Similarly, the price of 10 grammes of gold also hiked by Rs1,115 to Rs.182,099 from the earlier price of Rs180,984.

The price of 10 grammes 22 karat gold also recorded an increase as it went up to Rs166,924 as against the previous price of Rs165,902

Meanwhile, the price of per tola and 10 grammes silver remained unchanged at Rs2,580 and Rs2,211.93, respectively.

In the international market, gold held steady on Friday but was on track for a second consecutive weekly fall as traders lowered expectations of rapid US rate cuts, while markets sought more data for further clarity on the Federal Reserve’s next move.

Spot gold was little changed at $2,005.39 per ounce, and has lost nearly 1% for the week so far. US gold futures were steady at $2,017.20 per ounce.
