The parties revealed their agreement after a delegation from the PTI called on Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on Thursday to discuss the post-election scenario in the country.

However, the two parties declined to announce any specific measures including protests, adding instead that they would work on a possible strategy for the future.

Hafiz Hamdullah said that JUI had completely rejected the result of the elections on February 8 as ‘rigged’. He added that JUI was in agreement with the PTI over this point.

Barrister Saif said that Imran Khan has instructed the party to reach out to all parties who consider that elections in Pakistan were rigged.

He also echoed Hamdullah to say that both parties were in agreement over the basic point that the peoples’ mandate had been stolen in elections.

The PTI delegation was led by Asad Qaiser and included Barrister Saif, Amir Dogar and Fazal Khan. The meeting took place at Maulana’s residence in Islamabad.

The PTI delegation reportedly delivered Imran Khan’s personal message to Fazal as well.

The Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam delegation included Senator Talha Mahmood, Hafiz Hamdullah and others.

The two sides discussed reservations over rigging in elections ad the overall political situation of the country.

The JUI chief was also invited by the PTI to work together in opposition as well as against election rigging, sources said..

However, the parties did not take questions from reporters after the press conference ended.
