The report has revealed that 60.6 million votres cast their vote in 2024’s general elections, an increas of 5.8 million compared to 2018’s 54.8 million voters.

However, despite the increase in absolute numbers, the turnout fell by 52.1% in 2018 to 47.6% in 2024.

The report also shows that, as a whole, the turnout was lower in every province compared to elections in 2018.

In a surprise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the lowest turnout in the country with 39.5%, lower even than Balochistan’s 42.9%.

The report also reveals that the increase in the number of women voters was larger than the increase in 2.3 million more women voted in 2024 compared to only 1.09 ne male voters.

The report also revealed that the highest turnout in Pakistan was recorded in Tharparkar with 70.9%, and the lowest was recorded in South Waziristan with 16.3%.

According to FAFEN, 13 cities in Pakistan saw a turnout of over 60%. These included Islamabad, one in KP, nine in Punjab and two in Sindh.

Meanwhile, 10 cities saw less than 30% turnout including five in KP, two in Sindh and three in Balochistan.

However, in a positive development according to the report, not a single constituency in Pakistan saw less tha n10% female voter turnout.
