PPP to contact all parties over government formation

Pakistan Peoples Party’s Central Executive Committee has decided to contact ‘all’ parties over government formation.

Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Central Executive Committee at Islamabad’s Zardari house on Monday, Sherry Rehman said that deliberations were only half completed will continue on Tuesday.

She added that the party has decided to form a committee that will reach out to other parties for discussions on how to proceed over formation of government.

Rehman said that no final decisions have been taken so far and the CEC will meet again on Tuesday at 3 pm.

The CEC meeting on Monday comes after Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz initiated contact over finding a solution that could lead to a coalition government.

Nawaz Sharif announced on Friday night in a speech that Shehbaz Sharif would reach out to parties to sit together and find a solution.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"
        width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="height:400px;position:relative"
        src="https://www.aajenglish.tv/news/card/30350818"
        sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms">

Two rounds of talks have already been held between the two parties in Lahore. While there is plenty of speculation, no concrete news have emerged so far apart from a principle agreement for cooperation.

The results of the general elections showed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf backed independents emerging as the biggest group followed by PMLN with 75 seats and PPP with 54 seats in the National Assembly.
