      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chaudhry Adnan, who contested general elections from Rawalpindi as an independent candidate was gunned down on Monday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to reports, Adnan was shot by unknown men near the Police Lines in Rawalpindi.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Police said he was hit by bullets in the back, chest and face. He was first taken to the Benzair Bhutto Hospital but has now been shifted to the DHQ hospital for a post-mortem examination.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He had contested elections from Rawlapindi’s NA-57 and PP-19 as an independent candidate but was defeated.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He had won a seat in the Punjab Assembly in 2018 elections on a PTI ticket but had parted ways with the party after May 9 last year.&lt;/p&gt;
