The survey cited 12 ‘traders, economists and analysts from some of the nation’s biggest brokerages’ in the survey.

“Respondents cited the former cricket star’s enduring popularity as a key reason, saying he’d be able to push through market-focused reforms in the long run,” Bloomberg said.

However, all people who contirbuted to the survey also said that Pakistan would not be able to survive without another International Monetary Fund loan. However, six of the repondents told Bloomberg that Pakistan can put it off for six months.

The survey also predicted that the economy would grow at 2.65% in the current fiscal year, a figure higher thatn the 2-2.5% given by the government itself.

Bloomberg had also called Nawaz Sharif’s economic performance to be the best among the three major parties over the last 30 years.

However, Nawaz was placed at the second spot in the latest story that ranked political leaders by favourability by economic experts.
