Invitation to visit Sindh would’ve been better than verbal duel: Shehbaz

Without taking PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s name, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has reacted to the former’s challenge to have a verbal duel with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

“Yesterday, a gentleman invited Nawaz Sharif for a debate,” he said in a post on X on Saturday. “It would have been better if he had invited Nawaz Sharif to inspect Sindh instead of debate.”

His post came a day after Bilawal challenged Sharif for a debate at any time before the February 8 election.

Bilawal mentioned that the presidential and prime ministerial candidates participate in televised debates, providing voters with crucial insights into their plans.

The PPP chairman has vowed to give tough time to the PML-N in the elections. “When someone is out to hunt a tiger, a bat is rendered redundant, and only the arrow works,” he said at the party’s rally in Bahawalpur on January 13.

In the recent past, Bilawal has advised supporters of PTI to vote for the PPP to stop Sharif from becoming the prime minister for the fourth time.

Shehbaz added that a trip to Sindh would have been better to have a debate and comparison.

While addressing a rally in Liaquat Bagh, he praised Sharif for starting Rs44 billion worth of Metro Bus project and laptop scheme.

Shehbaz added that his brother, a frontrunner in the elections, said that he would start a “blue train” in Rawalpindi if given another stint to rule the country. He vowed to improve the mass transit system and road infrastructure in the twin cities.
