PTI comes up with new strategy to tell people who to vote for

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s candidates have been allotted varying symbols to contest the general election after the Election Commission of Pakistan denied it the ‘bat’ symbol.

The party is now facing the considerably difficult task of reaching out to voters and letting them know which symbol to vote for.

The party had initially tried to post a database of all symbols, but has now come up with a far more innovative strategy: a message from Imran Khan.

PTI has set up an auto-response mechanism on Imran Khan’s Facebook page, where each user can message the name of their constituency and receive information in return.

“Just send a message to Imran Khan’s official FB page with your constituency number & you will receive the information within a few minutes,” the party’s handle posted on X along with a video tutorial.

Additionally, the party has told supporters to use NADRA’s helpline 8300 to find out their constituency if they do not know it.

Imran Khan’s page on Facebook, where the auto-response function has been set up, has 14 million followers.

The new tactic is the latest in a long list of steps taken by the party to harness the strength of its numbers on social media, including online rallies.
