      <title>Torkham border opens for trade after 10 days</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been reopened for trade after 10 days of closure, authorities said on Tuesday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to authorities, the first truck c arrying good from Afghanistan has already entered Pakistan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Afghanistan’s consular general in Peshawar held talks with Pakistani authorities that led to the ongoing issue of unlicensed drivers being resolved.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Under the new agreement, drivers from Afghanistan now have till March 1 to get their documents in order.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After April 1, any drivers not in possession of relevant documents will be denied entry from Afghanistan into Pakistan.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Customs sources said that the federal government had decided that cargo vehicles must possess complete documentation before they are allowed to enter Pakistan. However, when the government had decided to enforce its decision on January 13, the Afghan side had closed the border.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The wrangling over trade and visas comes months after Pakistan launched an operation to remove undocumented Afghan refugees from its territory.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Over 500,000 refugees have since left the country, some voluntarity and others through deportation.&lt;/p&gt;
