Ex-Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist identifies fake news attributed to him

Former cricketer Adam Gilchrist has clarified that he has never demeaned the current Pakistan cricket team that lost to Australia earlier this month. Aussies whitewashed Green Shirts for the seventh time.

“I never said this. Absolutely fake, made up quotes,” Gilchrist said while replying to a Facebook post misattributing him.

The tourists had an eight-wicket victory and 3-0 Test series sweep over visitors in Sydney on January 6.

The fake post showed a post saying “Pakistan is the worst Asian team in Australian conditions” while wrongly quoting the former wicketkeeper batter.

Gilchrist, who was also in the commentary box, along with great cricketers, rebuffed such statements and used hashtags fake news and ignore.

“Pakistan were excellent at times this summer, against a World Champion Aust team and very nearly pinched a Test or two,” he said.
