The District Education Authority in Punjab has also issued revised timings for school effective from Jan 10.

According to new timings, schools operating in single-shifts will start classes on 9:30am till 1:00pm.

Likewise, schools working in double shifts will begin the first shift from 9:30am till 1:30pm while the evening shift’s classes will be from 1:45pm till 5:30pm.

It is pertinent to mention that the caretaker Punjab government decided not to extend winter vacations for schools a day earlier.

“Due to the ongoing winter wave, schools will resume on 10th Jan, 2024,” Naqvi said in a post on X, erstwhile Twitter, on Monday. “From 10th to 22nd Jan, schools will start at 9:30 am.”

The vacations were extended till January 9 owing to extreme cold conditions in the province.

However, the provincial government decided against further extension in the vacation which means the schools are set to open from tomorrow
