The authorities are taking measures for the deportation of detainees as per law.

The arrests were part of campaigns aimed at deporting expatriates working in Kuwait illegally.

The campaign has been directed by Sheikh Talal Al Khaled, an Interior Minister, and has additional charge of the first Deputy Prime Minister.

While highlighting the government’s commitment to clean the country from illegal employment, he described the campaign as necessary.

Earlier, in a bid to eliminate unlawfulness in the labour sector, the Interior Ministry had deported the highest number of expatriates for violating laws.

Statistics of the government indicate that from January 1 to December 31, 2023, the government deported 42,892 illegal immigrants including 17,701 women.

Of those, 42,265 expatriates were deported administratively, including 24,609 men and 17,656 women. The remaining 627 were categorised in judicial deportation including 582 men and 45 women.

This rise indicates the effort of security forces towards border security and campaigns were being carried out by them to control illegal employment.
