You can stay at hotel for free in UAE on transit visa

Travelers can avail the facility of a free hotel stay during their long stopover in Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities of the United Arab Emirates, Gulf News reported.

However, there are a few requirements to become eligible for the complimentary hotel stay.

Having a UAE transit visa is a must for travelers flying with either Emirates Airlines or Etihad Airways with a layover at Dubai International Airport or Abu Dhabi International Airport.

A transit visa allows you to enter a country temporarily to change flights or catch another form of transport to your destination.

The facility, available for all passengers in first, business and economy class, can be availed if they are staying for more than 24 hours during a layover in Abu Dhabi.

They will be accommodated in a three-star hotel for free by using Etihad’s ‘Abu Dhabi Stopover’ service, however, they will need to book their ticket and visa through Etihad.

Further, the passengers will be required to book the service three days before arrival and have a pre-arranged transit visa issued by Etihad, which will allow them to get a complimentary stay for up to two nights.

However, extra charges of meals and amenities will be paid by the passengers.

After booking a multi-city flight with Etihad connecting through Abu Dhabi, passengers will need to visit Etihad’s website to search for its stopover platform and select their booking for the free stay.
