      <title>Balloting for Hajj 2024 completed, over 63,000 names finalised</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Ministry of Religious Affairs completed the balloting for 2024’s Hajj applications on Thursday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The balloting was held in Karachi Press Club in the presence of caretaker minister Aniq Ahmed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A total of 69,438 people applied for Hajj and the names of 63,805 people were finalised after balloting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The remaining 5,633 applicants have been put on a waiting list sorted by city. They will be granted a slot if any individuals in the balloting choose to cancel their applications.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All successful applicants will be notified tonight (Thursday) via SMS, website and mobile app.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The minister announced that 56% of the successful candidates were women while 44% were men. He added that the balloting had been completed through a transparent process.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ahmed also announced that all women going for Hajj will be given an abaya with the Pakistan flag on it. ALl pilgrims willa lso be given a suitcase with a QR code on it as well as 7 GBs of data.&lt;/p&gt;
