The first artificial rain was induced on December 16 to control smog which remained beneficial for a few days but today according to the AQI’s website, Lahore ranked as the second top polluted city with over 400 unhealthy particles in the air.

Smog had become a big challenge for the interim government to combat and they also used artificial rain with the help of UAE to counter smog but the analysts already had said that artificial downpours would not be a permanent solution to deal with smog.

While talking to the Urdu news, regional director PMD Shahid Abbas had said if the experiment of artificial rain is successful, it cannot be considered a permanent solution to eliminate pollution, because after the rain, the pollution will be less, but there is no guarantee that there will be clean air.

On the other hand, air pollution and smog can retake the position after the entire process, he added.

Smog disease increasing in Lahore

On the other hand, Smog diseases including breathing problems are increasing in Lahore and surrounding areas amid a difficult situation especially for patients with Asthma the health experts advised them to adopt precautionary measures to prevent the disease.

They direct people to strive to stay home and to wear masks at the time when they are going outside.
