Election Commission of Pakistan has written to authorities across the country regarding complaints being received about filing of nomination papers and issued orders to resolve the issues immediately.

The letters have been addressed to all four provincial chief secretaries and election commissioners as well as Islamabad’s IG and commissioners.

It says that the ECP received complaints and saw media reports showing difficulties faced by candidates in receiving and submitting nomination papers.

Adding that the ECP has taken ‘serious notice’ of the matter, authorities have been instructed that necessary action should be taken to resolve the complaints.

The letters were issued after a delegation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan met Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja as well as members of the ECP.

However, the PTI has not been mentioned by name in the letter.
