      <title>Hamid Saeed Kazmi rejoins PPP</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Former Religious Affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi joined the Pakistan Peoples Party on Sunday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Kazmi announced his joining after meeting with Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad Sunday. Ahmad Saeed Kazmi also announced that he would join the PPP in the meeting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;PPP leaders Nayyer Bokhari, Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood and Abdul Qadir Shaheen were also present in the meeting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Kazmi served as the minister for religious affairs under the PPP government from 2008-2010 after being elected on a party ticket from Rahim Yar Khan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He left office after being sentenced to sixteen years in prison for his involvement in the Haj scandal by a lower court but was later acquitted by the Islamabad High Court.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He contested the 2018 elections as an independent candidate but lost and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 2022.&lt;/p&gt;
