Alam Sher, the brother of Mehsud, filed the petition at the SHC where he pleaded the court to set aside an anti-terrorism court verdict which acquitted Anwar and 18 others over the lack of evidences against them.

The court took up the case days after Anwar revealed shocking details regarding PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and the Sindh government.

In his plea, Sher said that the ATC ignored evidence against the former cop and other suspects while announcing the verdict on January 23.

Accepting the plea of the victim’s brother, the SHC sought the complete record of the case from the ATC while seeking a response from the prosecutor general of Sindh.

In an interview on Samaa TV programme DoTok on Monday, Anwar blamed Asif Ali Zardari for corruption worth Rs700 billion.

“Asif Ali Zardari is the king of the system mafia. In the last five years, Rs700 billion have been laundered outside Pakistan,” he alleged.

Former Senior Superintendent of Police Malir Rao Anwar, Karachi’s most controversial cop, officially retired from service at the end of 2019.
