A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the operation was conducted in the Mullazai area of Tank on the night between Thursday and Friday.

“After an intense fire exchange, five terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement said.

“The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against Law Enforcement Agencies as well as extortion and target killing of innocent civilians.”

The terrorists apparently belonged to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

The ISPR added that a large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the terrorists.

The army conducted a clean-up operation in the area after the operation to clear the area.
