&lt;p&gt;Mohammad Hafeez said that he is proud and excited to take on a new responsibility for Pakistan cricket, and also acknowledged that his new role will be challenging.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He said that he is determined to efforts together with the coaching staff and players, and will strive for the best performance together and bring happiness to the fans.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;According to sources, Hafeez was favoured by the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Cricket Management Committee (CMC) Zaka Ashraf and he also expressed his availability for the job.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Pakistan national cricket team will tour Australia in December 2023 and January 2024 to play three Test matches. The teams will contest the Benaud–Qadir Trophy and the series will be a part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.&lt;/p&gt;
