Tank DPO Iftikhar Shah said that the policeman, identified as Sharifuddin, was travelling from his home in Adamabad to Tank on Tuesday when the incident happened.

Sharifuddin was passing through the jurisdiction of Saddar police station when unknown men on a motorcycle fired on him, killing him on the spot.

The policeman’s body has been shifted to Civil Hospital in Tank for a post-mortem examination.

A search operation has been launched to find the culprits but no arrests have been made so far.
