Reports said that terrorists attacked the Khurrum police station with heavy weapons including rocket launchers in the dark of night.

The DPO responded with a quick response force as soon as the attack was reported. The terrorists were forced to abandon the attack after an intense exchange of fire.

No terrorists were killed or apprehended in the attack. However, one policeman, Sipahi Naveed Iqbal, sustained light injuries and taken to the DHQ Hospital.

Police started a clearance operation in the area after the attack.
