A heavy contingent of police from Kalachi and Tehsil Daraban were sent to Rori, police said and added that the gun battle with alleged terrorists lasted for more than 20 minutes.

The incident was reported two days after a bomb blast targeting police killed five people and injured over 20 others in DI Khan.

The bomb exploded close to a police patrol in the city. According to the police, a vehicle carrying officers of the KP Elite Force was targeted.

Meanwhile, the police claimed to have recovered hand grenade, anti-tank mines, and safety fuse from Sher Ali Khan mosque in Bannu, which is more than 71km away from DI Khan.

They added that the bomb disposal team diffused the hand grenade and anti-tank mines.

According to the police, the explosive device was supposed to be used in terrorist activities.
