“He [Hameed] will have to be called to the court and heard before giving any observation or direction regarding him. According to the law, it is against the law to give a verdict without hearing the accused,” he told Asma Shirazi on Faisla Aap Ka on Wednesday.

According to him, the Faizabad sit-in case had been ignored, and seemed like the case was purposely delayed.

“There could not be a better bench on the case than the current one as CJP Qazi Faez Isa knew every aspect of the case. I think it is time that it [verdict] is implemented,” Pasha said.

Former chief of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Absar Alam said that he exposed the system of Pakistan in his statement submitted to the Supreme Court in the Faizabad sit-in case.

“I have put forward everything that has been done to the media in the last 75 years. I have told the nation how the media houses are being run and how they manage their affairs,” he added.

He ruled out the possibility of an action against the ex-chief of ISI saying “I do not want any action against him; he is nobody for me. I do not have any personal animosity with anyone.”

Journalist Muneeb Farooq said that it was not possible in Pakistan to name the masterminds behind the Faizabad sit-in.

“We all know General Faiz Hamid (Retd) and former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa (Redt) had roles in that sit-in. However, like many things it is not possible to discuss it in the country,” he added.

According to Farooq, the national security institutions cannot be held accountable for their mistakes and blunders compared with the politicians as Pakistan was a security state.
