&lt;p&gt;The government plans to collect additional Rs400 billion from the consumers. The federal cabinet will have the final say on the approval of the hike in the gas tariff.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The fixed monthly charges for the protected customers have also been raised from Rs10 to Rs400, along and a 3,900% increase in the fixed charges for the lowest gas users.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The summary was forwarded by the petroleum division. Earlier, sources said that the increase in gas prices will be applicable from October 1.&lt;/p&gt;
