“The missile system is aimed at strengthening deterrence and enhancing strategic stability in the region through the operationalization of Full Spectrum Deterrence in the overall construct of Credible Minimum Deterrence,” a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

The ISPR added that the test was done to re-validate ‘various design, technical parameters and performance evaluation’ of the weapon’s sub-systems.

Chairman Joint Chief of Staff General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was in attendance to witness the test.

“The President, Prime Minister of Pakistan and Services Chiefs also congratulated all members of the Strategic Forces on the achievement,” the statement added.
