      <title>Dollar maintains downward trend as new week begins</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The US dollar continued to lose value against the rupee in the first trading session of the week, continuing the trend seen in preceding weeks.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The greenback shed 79 paisas to reach Rs276.83 at the closing of the interbank foreign exchange market on Monday as against the closing of Rs277.62 the previous day.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Pakistan Stock Exchange also recorded a positive session amid improved investors’ sentiment as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 237.88 points or 0.48% to reach 49,731.35 at the closing of the market.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the KSE-30 Index recorded minor losses as the Index shed 5.67 points or 0.03% to reach 17,125.83 levels&lt;/p&gt;
